The 5 Best New Music Videos Of The Week – Ariel Pink, Grimes & More

Before we get into the weekend, we’re happy to share our second round-up of what we consider to be the most interesting new music video releases of the week. The range is wide once again, going from Ariel Pink to A$AP Rocky and from Major Lazer to JJ DOOM and Grimes, who is seen here wearing a Hall of Fame PUSSY snapback cap.

Enjoy the selection here below and have a good weekend.

Grimes – Genesis (Dir. Claire Boucher)

Real life meets Anime – Grimes hangs out with a sultry, dread-locked Power Rangers villain donning some form of exoskeleton one presumes could also double up as a chastity belt.

JJ DOOM – Guv’nor (Dir. Ninian Doff)

A mind-bendingly wonderful split-screen video from Ninian Doff sees a rare on-screen performance from Doom. With his signature mask and rambunctious flows, the veteran rapper proceeds to cause havoc both visually and lyrically.

Major Lazer – Get Free (Dir. So Me)

Since Diplo started his Mad Decent label he’s gone Moombahton on everyone’s ass. This is an ode to the vibrant people of Jamaica featuring boxing, hair braids and the dutty wine.

Ariel Pink – Only In My Dreams (Dir. Travis Peterson)

Shot with VHS-style cinematography, the first video from ‘Mature Themes’ illustrates what Pink refers to as his ‘polygamist fantasy’. It also features a performance from former girlfriend of eight years, Geneva Jacuzzi.

A$AP Rocky – Goldie (Late Night With Jimmy Fallon)

A$AP Rocky appeared on Fallon earlier this week to perform his hit single ‘Goldie’. Questo and the Roots lent a hand in the much more PG version. Watch here.
