Supra Royal Collection Fall/Winter 2012

Supra presents for Fall/Winter 2012 their new Royal collection, which they describe as “the junction at which fine art, luxury, and contemporary fashion converge to create exceptionally fine footwear.” The exclusive Royal collection allowed the Supra designers the freedom to experiment with color, material, and design to “flawlessly craft a sophisticated line of footwear that resides beyond the boundaries of innovation.” The 2012 Royal collection features two silhouettes—the Falcon and the Donavyn—available in three styles each.

The new silhouettes that Supra presents as part of the Royal Collection are certainly innovative and very different from everything that we have seen from the brand. Skateboarding, sneaker culture and high end sneaker design seem to unite within the sneakers. These will not be everybody’s cup to tea, but without any doubt will find its fans. After the success of the Skytop it is a good time to see something new from the brand.

“The Falcon is an extraordinary mid top designed with distinctive stitch-through details, such as the padded foam heel overlay panel and collar, which offer a striking departure from footwear design conventions. The Falcon has a padded mesh lining and is constructed atop a vulcanized sole with a double layer of textured foxing. Three premium materials were used in this year’s collection: caramel, full-grain leather (tanned with natural vegetable dyes); brilliant white, full-grain leather; and black, tumbled full-grain leather.

The Donavyn is a stylish low top, redolent of a dress shoe, designed to showcase modern details with luxurious materials (also constructed from caramel, white, or black full-grain leather). It has a long, clean vamp, stitch and turn heel detail, slightly larger collar opening, padded mesh lining, and a vulcanized sole that is outfitted with two layers of textured foxing.”

The Supra Royal Sneaker Collection is now available from select retailers around the globe.
