Tonight marks the opening of the new solo show by Richard Phillips at Gagosian’s 24th Street Gallery in New York City. The show will host the U.S.A. debut of Phillips new surf film, First Point, a collaboration between Phillips, surf film director Taylor Steele and Lindsey Lohan. A most notable point of First Point is the film’s score by Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter.
Imagery from Richard Phillips’ other films, Lindsay Lohan (2011) and Sasha Grey (2012) will be showcased alongside unseen paintings from Visionaire’s photography project Rio 3D featuring model Adriana Lima. Large, 22-foot high back drops, “representing major Brazilian landmarks of social, political, and religious themes – the sidewalks of the Copa Cabana, the Favelas of Rio, and Oscar Neiemeyer’s Cathedral de Brasilia” will also be on display.
The exhibition is open to the public from September 12 – October 20 at Gagosian Gallery on 555 West 24th Street.
