Edwin Land is a name most of you may have never heard before, but you may be familiar with his iconic invention. In 1947 he introduced the Polaroid Land Camera, which was the first instant camera. Not only it revolutionized the way we take photos, it also established and perpetuated a characteristic look, which survived way into the digital age, making your facebook pics in 2012 look like they were shot sometime around 1981 with a shabby point-and-shoot camera.
Instant: The Story Of Polaroid is an upcoming book tracing the rise and fall of Polaroid, of which author Christopher Bonanos says was the Apple of its days.
The Book is going to be released next month by Princeton Architectural Press.
