Last month we participated in an urban hiking experience with Timberland and Marcus Troy called “Walk With Me.” For this project we ventured out into the city of Toronto and explored the Evergreen Brickworks area with a group of esteemed creatives.
For our hike I was blessed with the Timberland GT Scramble boot. As far as looks go, “pre-distressed” usually isn’t my preference, but in this case it worked, one, because we got them dirty right away and two, because box-fresh hikers are a bit of an odd look anyways. On my pair, the orange laces also made for a nice contrast against the brown leather upper.
Performance-wise the mid height boots were very comfortable with a padded tongue and collar and a cushioned EVA midsole. The Smartwool lining/footbed was soft and warm, while the waterproof leather upper kept me dry when splashing in puddles. The lugged outsole and toe bumper also gripped well in all-conditions, allowing me to easily stay moving over any obstacles I encountered.
