Two of my collegiate years were spent at a small college populated by lots and lots of wrestlers. My roommate at the time was a former high school state champ and provided a window into their weird little world (when meeting for the first time, they’d announce their last names followed by their “rank”—e.g. “Anderson; State Champ”).
Varsity is an archaic and shortened form of “university”, which this school was not, so I’ll drop the thread now. These Blood Brother varsity jackets don’t remind me much of amateur athletics anyway. Mostly they seem to offer a way of looking sporty but also detached from any embarrassing fanfare. Slick and easy with a silver-sleeved option for the real champions. Available online and, next week, at Selfridges.
