The Weekly Outfit: Chilled Chalet

A friend of mine recently invited me to spend the holidays in his chalet in the French Alps. Which means I will definitely be busy rocking the pistes. Nah, just kidding. I don’t know shit about winter sports. I will be probably hanging out in this nice little french town, walking around, trying to have a good time anyway and looking trés chic.

Filson – Mackinaw Cap

If you are going to embark on a hiking trip (or just take a walk in Winter Wonderland), we recommend getting appropriate headwear. The folks at Filson know their shit, thats why they provide some great outdoor gear like this Mackinaw cap. Made of thick 24oz wind and rain resistant virgin wool, this cap also features hidden earflaps, which come in handy during those especially frosty days. Get it at OiPolloi.

Thom Browne – Navy & Red Leather Trimmed Round Mirror Sunglasses

It always struck me as incredibly odd that people never wear their sun glasses in winter. They are called sun glasses, not summer glasses. But seriously, especially in winter the sun tends to be an even greater pain in the ass. That’s why you should shield those precious eyes of yours with some high quality shades, like the ones above by Thom Browne. They are available at Ssense.

Stussy – Stussy Westridge Reversible Down Vest

If you appreciate down’s superior insulation qualities, but somehow can’t get used to the puffiness most jackets feature, you might consider getting a down vest. It keeps you warm and cozy without compromsing to flexibility. The Stussy Westbridge Reversible Down Vest can be worn either side out and features a 80/20 down/feather filling, snap closure flap pockets, adjustable drawstring hem, a leather Stussy logo patch. Get it at End.

Ami – Ribbed Merino Wool-Blend Sweater

Parisian label Ami provides this great knitted turtleneck sweater. Crafted from luxuriously soft blend of merino wool and cashmere you will surely never want to take it off again. It is available at Mr. Porter.

Moncler – Sweat Pants Style Wool Trousers

Oscilating between casual and smart, these sweat pant style wool trouser perfectly mirror Moncler‘s rich outerwear heritage, as they clearly take inspiration from early 20th century ski outfits. They are made of high quality wool and feature a contrasting elastic waistline and cuffs, two side pockets and two buttoned flap pockets in the front and back. Get them at Colette.

Nonnative – Logger Socks

These socks by Nonnative are crafted from a wool blend and feature a classic knit pattern as well as a contrasting bright orange opening. Get them at LN-CC.

Diemme – Roccia Vet Pony Militare

In my opinion the Roccia Vet Pony Militare is the crowning piece of Diemme‘s current collection. Of course hand made of premium materials in Italy, the boot’s features include 100% Hair on Horse-hide Leather, Conceria S. Biagio Leather, a Vibram wedge outer sole and comfortable latex padding. It is available in limited numbers at Caliroots.
