London Collections: Men returns, three days of menswear happenings, the schedule packed out with plenty of our favourites. First up, Lou Dalton. As demonstrated in past collections, Dalton’s strength lies in her ability to combine the rigidity of traditional uniforms and workwear with something softer and more modern. Inspiration for Fall 2013 comes from the 1970s North Sea oil boom, “the collection plays on the idea of an American oil baron who wants to buy a remote Scottish village to build a great oil port in its place.” Beautiful raw Shetland knitwear, heavy grey wool suits and waterproofs via oilskins and treated fabrics particular standouts.
