As the First Family made their way into St. John’s Episcopal Church across from the White House for a service, the world got a glimpse of what, and more importantly who, the First Lady wore.

Mrs. Obama chose a navy Thom Browne coat and dress made of silk jacquard based on a necktie fabric along with a belt and pair of shoes from J. Crew. In between the coat and dress lies a cardigan by Reed Krakoff. The First Lady finished up the look with a necklace by California-based jewelry designer Cathy Waterman.

The outfit is an important focus because it is sent in its entirety to the National Archives after the ceremonies.
