Sacai is the brainchild of Japanese Designer Chitose Abe. After working for several season exclusively in women’s collections, she now succesfully ventured into menswear territory, recently showing her debut Fall/Winter collection at Paris Fashion Week. However, the presentation did not include a runway show. A concept that was initially also applied to her women’s collections too, but has been dropped soon. For her meanswear collection Abe draws her inspiration from classic British tayloring, with a clear nod to the Empire’s colonial history. The collection features plaid patterns and sturdy Tweed fabrics, combined with asian inspired silk pieces, resulting in a consistent and intriguing overall look.
