Japanese label visvim presents a first look at their Spring/Summer 2013 Collection with the heading “Dissertation on Symbolism and our Prayer Flag”. Featured in the preview is the flag of the Asafo, a traditional warrior group of the Fante people of Ghana.
The pictures on the flag are primarily depictions of old proverbs, meant to galvanize the troops. The Union Jack on the upper portion of the flag suggests it was made before Ghana achieved independence in 1957.
This flag featured in the January issue of POPEYE will be on display at F.I.L. TOKYO until the beginning of February.
