After announcing the exciting partnership between French luxury brand Hermès and Japanese brand COMME des GARCONS in November, we can finally give you a first look at the resulting “Comme des Carrés” capsule scarf collection. Next month the 175 year old French luxury brand will release 6 scarves reworked by Rei Kawakubo in a limited edition of 200 of each design.
In the collection typical COMME des GARCONS elements, such as dots, check patterns and patchwork patterns, meet designs from the Hermes archive. The outcome is a true collaboration that fuses the ideas and looks of the two brands.
“The first scarves are laced with typically Comme des Garçons elements such as Kawakubo’s iconic polka dots, nylon gingham, heavy black lines and personal motto, live free with strong will, married with traditional Hermès prints such as Thalassa and Pegasus.”
