Neighbouring houses belonging to two generation of the same family are brought together by HOUSE House from Andrew Maynard Architects. Inspired by tall, narrow structures more commonly found in over populated cities such as London and Tokyo, this type of build is a bit of a rarity in space rich Australia. While the two homes remain separate with the new extension built across the rear of the terraces, the garden can be turned into a shared space with the use of sliding doors. See more in the gallery.
