A 1920s building reconfigured and extended in 2012 by Rios Clementi Hale Studios, this is an incredible home inside and out. Located in Venice, California, the home (belonging to the architects themselves) takes inspiration from the idea of “Cape Cod meets California Modern.” Designed to allow the indoor spaces to connect with the main outdoor patio, the house is separated into private areas whilst retaining a sense of openness. Of course, the most striking feature is the ‘exaggerated vertical wood framing’ that gives privacy and shade to the back of the house. It also looks pretty cool too. Take the tour in the gallery.
