The day that many camera enthusiasts have waited for has finally come. Until today the camera was simply called the Leica Mini “M”. It is actually entitled X Vario and comes packed with an interesting set of features.
The new compact digital camera by the German brand comes for the first time with a Vario lens, which offers a 28-70mm range, and sits in front of a 16.1MP CMOS sensor. Unusual for this camera class is the rather big APC-C sensor, which in combination with the high quality lens will make for some excellent results. Also the camera comes equipped with full HD video functionality, which can record moving visuals in 1920 x 1080 pixels and 30 images per second.
The new design is clearly inspired by the iconic Leica M series and is handmade in Germany with only the best materials out there, including metal and alumnium. Priced at 2450 euros, the camera ships from today, packaged with Adobe Photoshop Lightroom.
