Berlin retailer Civilist has teamed up with Nike SB for an exclusive Dunk High sneaker. Working an all-black look, the skate shop mixed patterns and textures on the upper of the shoe, giving it a bold, premium look inspired by Berlin’s Neue Nationalgalerie (New National Gallery) – a legendary skate spot in its own right. The black/anthracite leather symbolizes the steel frames of the building, whereas the black parts of the Dunk High reflect the dark windows. The tongue’s pattern and the stitched heel piece represent the interior design of the Nationalgalerie, while the waxed laces are a nod to the waxed ledges of the spot. Overall one of our favorite Nike SB releases in some time.
The shoe will be released today at 4 p.m. at the Civilist/Nike SB shop in Berlin.
