Illustrator and founding editor of Punk Magazine John Holmstrom, probably best known for illustrating the covers of the Ramones albums Rocket to Russia and Road to Ruin, was the inspiration for the Fall/Winter 2013 collection of LUKER by NEIGHBORHOOD. Holmstrom who was born in 1954 and started Punk Magazine in 1975 is considered one of the biggest influencers of the U.S. punk era and his work and unmistakable artistic style established itself as key visuals of that scene. LUKER by NEIGHBORHOOD uses his artwork and the iconic logo of the magazine printed on T-shirts and shirts, while the full collection overall quotes punk and its origins in the UK during the ’70s.
