Another week, another wonderful selection of music videos for your viewing pleasure. From grainy indie rock to glossy hip-hop, we cover a range of great audio-visual treats. Enjoy them all below.
CocoRosie – “Child Bride”
Directed by Emma Freeman, “Child Bride,” from CocoRosie’s new album Tales of a Grass Widow, depicts the song’s lyrics about a child marrying an older man in clear visuals. Very unpleasant, yet beautifully shot. Freaky.
BRAIDS – “In Kind”
Directed by Angus Borsos, BRAIDS’ new video for “In Kind” feels perfect for this summer weekend with serene, panoramic views of nature. The single from their upcoming album Flourish // Perish is a simple, beautiful number with visuals to match.
A$AP Ferg – “Shabba” (Featuring A$AP Rocky)
A$AP Ferg’s dancehall-inspired “Shabba” from the forthcoming Trap Lord mixtape features A$AP Rocky and cameo appearances from illRoots, Ian Connor, the entire A$AP Mob, and even Shabba Ranks himself. Just good old ignorant fun.
Austra – “Painful Like”
Director Exploding Motor Car (what a name!) takes on the classic B-movie horror look to provide a grainy, gooey visual to Austra’s track “Painful Like.” I don’t love rollerblading, but their kits are pretty stellar, and you definitely can’t go wrong with a dancing sewer demon.
Earl Sweatshirt – “Hive” (Featuring Vince Staples & Casey Veggies)
Earl Sweatshirt’s new music video for his track “Hive” features Vince Staples and Casey Veggies. The song is from his upcoming album Doris, set to officially release August 20, 2013 and takes on a dark, creepy vibe on thanks to video director Hiro Murai.
