At this year’s Comic-Con, director Zach Snyder not only announced that there would be a sequel to Man of Steel but that a certain masked vigilante would share screen time with Superman. Snyder made the announcement by reading Bruce Wayne’s famed threat to Clark Kent in DC’s epic graphic novel The Dark Knight Returns leading fans to draw the correct conclusion that Batman would be appearing in the series’ next installment. The film is said to take inspiration from The Dark Knight graphic novel series that featured Superman and Batman as enemies which the sequel will be loosely based on.
The film is due out in theaters around 2015 with Henry Cavill reprising his role as Superman although there is no word yet on who will play Batman.
[UPDATE] It is confirmed that Ben Affleck will play Batman in the Man of Steel sequel.
