The Weekly Outfit: ‘Ferris Bueller’s Day Off’ Color Palette

We’re always looking for new ways to theme our Weekly Outfits. Today, we decided to call upon one of the most formative teen high school movies ever made – the 1986 John Hughes-directed Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. Sticking to the same formula as our previous color palette outfit, featuring 2001: A Space Odyssey, we’ve once again taken a still from the Movies in Color Tumblr. We could go on and on about the film itself, but how about we dissect it visually instead? Here’s an outfit assembled in honor of the great Mr. Bueller and his constant struggle to take it easy.

Carven Varsity Sweatshirt

You can’t reference a teen high school movie without considering the lauded varsity. This Carven iteration is in a particularly regal red – wear it slung over your shoulders for when you want a bit of that ’80s-style class. You can buy it now from colette.

Acne Fine Print T-Shirt

This rust-colored T-shirt from Acne features a much more stripped-back take on leopard print, so you can still wear it without feeling like too much of a sex kitten. Crafted from a light cotton jersey fabric, it’s perfect for these warm summer months. Cop one from Tres Bien.

Raleigh Denim Trousers

Handcrafted and sourced in North Carolina, embrace a pair of made in USA trousers with this poly/cotton denim blend pair from Raleigh Denim. The summer-appropriate shade will see you right through the fall months. Available from Need Supply Co.

Blue Blue Japan Sunglasses

Blue Blue Japan’s unisex sunglasses are made from celluloid acetate which makes them way more durable than your usual sun-specs. Super comfortable against the skin, this black edition feature an engraved metal bridge and a smaller frame size. Buy them now from Norse Store.

Larsson & Jennings Watch

Watches are pretty much a necessity to any lifestyle, which means you can revel in choosing the nicest to adorn your wrist. This one is from contemporary brand Larsson & Jennings who fuse Swedish minimalist design with British heritage. You can pick this one up here.

Vans Vault x Disney OG Sk8-Hi LX ‘Mickey Mouse’

In celebration of their 100th anniversary, Vans decided to partner up with their SoCal neighbors, Disney, to create updated versions of some of their most classic styles. Included was this pair of the Sk8-Hi style featuring an all-over black and white Mickey Mouse print and a red leather eyestay and toe box. Get hold of this pair from End Clothing.
