The Weekly Outfit: A Weekend in Florence

Starting this week, we embark on a four-week trip through Europe, featuring a respective Weekly Outfit for each city. However, ditching the usual overhyped suspects in favor of some true yet often shamefully neglected gems, we start our voyage in the scenic capital of Italy’s Tuscany region. Probably best know among the fashion crowd for hosting the biannual Pitti trade show, along with its amazing medieval city center filled to the brim with breathtaking Renaissance art and architecture, Florence can easily be considered Italy’s most stylish city… sorry Milan. As always, we rounded up some of our favorite brands, while paying tribute to the local fashion scene by throwing in some of Italy’s finest. See the entire outfit after the jump.

Stone Island – SI013 Square Lens Sunglasses

Constant purveyor of technical outerwear, Stone Island has recently launched its first eyewear collection. The shades pictured above are handmade in Italy and feature a metal frame and premium-quality, scratch-resistant Carl Zeiss lenses. They are available now at End Clothing.

Aspesi – Wim Blazer

Aspesi provides great quality basics that impress with a keen eye for details and minimalist styling. The above blazer is made of a lightweight cotton and linen blend, making it just perfect for a stylish summer day’s stroll through beautiful Florence. Cop it directly from the source.

Monitaly – Leather Pocket Tee

Monitaly updated this tee with a leather chest pocket, adding a small yet eye-catching detail to a basic wardrobe staple. You can get the shirt now at Bodega.

William Fox and Sons – Brown Flower Shorts

William Fox and Sons have been supplying quality garments for a whopping hundred years now. That’s why they take extra pride in maintaining high standards in design and manufacturing, resulting in understated yet exceptionally well-made pieces such as the above flower-patterned shorts. You can get a pair now at PRESENT.

Buttero – Tosch Low

Initially known for their premium riding boots, Italian brand Buttero now carries a wide range of footwear options including this laid-back low-top leather sneaker. Handmade in the “sunbeaten hills of Tuscany,” these shoes are Italian footwear at its best. Get them at SOTO.

Filson – Medium Tote with Pockets

A weekend city trip calls for some quality luggage that is spacious enough to hold whatever you need to carry, and that at the same time is sturdy enough to withstand daily use and abuse. Pretty much meeting all of these requirements, outdoor specialist Filson provides a medium-sized tote bag that boasts a rugged oilcloth/canvas construction beside leather handles, a large main compartment with five roomy pockets, a frontal full-width outer snap pocket, and two snap flap pockets. Get it at Need Supply.
