White Cave House by Takuro Yamamoto Architects

The White Cave House by Takuro Yamamoto Architects is as its name suggests. It’s located in Kanazawa City in Japan, and despite the area’s notoriously heavy snowfall the house still features many external spaces, with a terrace open to the sky and a large internal courtyard which connects much of the rest of the house. The open air spaces help to bring light into the rest of the home, which means a lack of external windows create enormous privacy and a real sense of seclusion.
