Born in 1964 in Düsseldorf Germany, New York-based contemporary artist Pia Dehne quickly rose in ranks with her exceptional body of work that walks the thin line between abstract and hyper-realistic. Describing them as “optical illusion,” her paintings exhibit a keen eye for detail, color and composition. She has a particular strong penchant for camouflage, which according to her symbolizes a way of connecting with the surrounding world, both visually and emotionally.
