Toronto-based photographer Peter Andrew‘s ongoing photography series “Point Blank” takes a literally closer look at famous handgun models, such as the Smith and Wesson .38 revolver, Desert Eagle and Uzi. The gun barrel pointed directly at the viewer, the large-scale “portraits” emit an undeniable intensity that leaves you bouncing back and forth between feelings of unease and fascination for this truly captivating piece of art. According to Andrew, they are meant to be studied like you would a face, paying attention to all the tiny details and imperfections, thus building a story surrounding the particular gun.
