For Fall/Winter 2013, Copenhagen’s Norse Projects move in new directions while improving upon signature pieces. As an expansion of the brand’s steadfast design ethos, the collection blends functionality with minimalism in three distinct categories: technical, formal and casual.
The technical category includes waterproof and breathable shell fabrics along with recycled polyester fleece from Polartec. Lightweight down, Primaloft thermal insulation and Coolmax jersey base layers round off the segment for easy layering in any climate.
The formal section builds on classic menswear shapes and styles in toned-down colors while focusing on special material and construction techniques. The result is hybrid outerwear styles that combine natural fabrics with waterproof and breathable membranes, as well as taped seams to create traditions of the future.
The casual segment of the collection showcases timeless menswear styles with references drawn from military surplus, college sportswear and Danish nautical life. Natural fabrics and soft washes create comfortable everyday favorites that develop their own character over time. Organic colors, cottons, untreated wools, American selvedge denim, light cotton down jackets, and Scandinavian Fair Isle patterns combine to make quality staples in a wide yet harmonious range of patterns and colors.
