A Visit to the Cinque Torri Mountains of Italy with Dolomite

Established in 1897, Italian mountaineering brand Dolomite is returning to the American market this fall with the iconic Hawk Pro. Those familiar with ’90s hip-hop will remember the prominence of this style over a decade ago and if you were in NYC at the time, you will remember David Z as being the place to get them. As such, Dolomite and David Z worked together exclusively to highlight the return of the storied model.

We had the opportunity to visit Italy a few months back as part of this launch to explore the country and get a feel for what Dolomite is all about. To give you an example of their commitment to mountaineering: Dolomite is the oldest continuously operating outdoor brand in the world and were the outfitter of the 1954 Italian expedition which was the first to summit K2 – considered by many to be the most difficult summit in the world.

Though we didn’t visit K2 (it’s not in Italy), we did climb the famous Cinque Torri mountains outside Cortina to test out the performance of the boots and take in the amazing Italian landscapes. We also visited their HQ and factory in the Veneto region. Enjoy the looks in our gallery.
