For the Spring/Summer 2014 season, Y-3 teamed up with legendary art director Peter Saville, whose hyper-colorful designs form the basis of the collection entitled “Meaningless Excitement.” The title is to be understood as both a critique and celebration of internet culture, in particular its up and downsides, and the relentless pursuit of the next big thing. This concept has been accordingly translated into acid-bright prints and distorted slogans adorning the kind of minimalist sportswear-influenced staples Y-3 is known and appreciated for.
