The London-based artists Gilbert & George are two people but one artist. They have been working from East London for the duration of their joint career, living a very specific routine they exactly replicate each day. They are mostly known for their living sculpture and large-scale pictures, and for their most recent work they are recreating their 1984 Waking painting on a billboard by the side of the High Line in New York City. The image is populated by the young that represent the primal life forces at their most formative and explosive stages, and it will be on show at the corner of 18th Street and 10th Avenue until October 1.
