A Recap of the 2013 Emmy Awards

Television’s highest honor, the Emmy Awards, were held last night in Los Angeles. As usual, there were upsets and also some unsurprising wins. Breaking Bad finally received the acclaim it deserved by picking up its first Outstanding Drama Series, while Modern Family took home the Outstanding Comedy Series for the fourth year running. Steven Soderbergh’s Liberace biopic Behind The Candelabra was a top winner with 11 Emmys. No awards, however, can overshadow this year’s “In Memoriam” segment, which included Edie Falco giving a heartfelt tribute to her The Sopranos co-star James Gandolfini, and Jane Lynch honoring Glee star Cory Monteith.
