Following Kanye West’s hour-long interview with BBC Radio 1’s Zane Lowe, comedian Jimmy Kimmel parodied the session with child actors as they recreated some of the interview’s most quotable lines. Although it seemed like a harmless bit of late night fun, Mr. West took the parody seriously and tweeted the following:
“JIMMY KIMMEL IS OUT OF LINE TO TRY AND SPOOF IN ANY WAY THE FIRST PIECE OF HONEST MEDIA IN YEARS” and “SARAH SILVERMAN IS A THOUSAND TIMES FUNNIER THAN YOU AND THE WHOLE WORLD KNOWS IT!!!”
Jimmy Kimmel quickly responded to West’s comments, perhaps adding more fuel to the fire. Tonight, nearly two weeks after the whole debacle began, the Chicago rapper is set to appear on Kimmel’s program to presumably resolve things amicably. It’ll be interesting to see how things develop and if the artist and comedian are able to find any common ground between their equally serious, albeit different, efforts.
