Banksy is back to his satirical self on day 16 with Shoe Shine – a fiberglass replica sculpture of Ronald McDonald having his enormous shoes shined by a real-live boy. The sculpture was placed outside of a South Bronx McDonald’s today and will move outside different McDonald’s locations every lunchtime over the next week. An accompanying audio guide on the “Better Out Than In” website reveals the piece is about the heavy labor it takes to keep up the polished image of a mega corporation. Banksy also references Greek mythology in the audio piece, but does so in his usual ironic manner. Head over here to hear the full audio guide.
