For those of you bored with unattractive, out of place, bulky desktop speakers, here’s a little something you might be interested in. A small company called Running Farm Labs have created the Timbre Speaker, a full-range, single-driver system, finely engineered desktop speakers made from high quality materials. How does it work? “The stainless steel sheet is driven by a voice coil and acts as both the diaphragm and suspension of the speaker. By reinforcing it in some areas and firmly clamping it in others, the frequency response and timbre can be tuned as desired.” Add to that its clean, slimline design and you’ve got something pretty special. The speakers are set to be released in January 2014, head to their Kickstarter page to get in on the action.
