Swiss watchmaker IWC has teamed up with the Antoine de Saint-Exupéry Youth Foundation to release two special edition watches for the famed early 20th century pilot and writer. In celebration of his best-known work Le Petit Prince (The Little Prince) turning 70, the heritage watch company is releasing a Mark XVII pilot’s watch and Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar to mark the occasion. The Mark XVII is an automatic timepiece with a stainless steel case and Le Petit Prince embossing on the back. Retailing for $5,400 USD it’s limited to 1,000 pieces. The Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar Edition features an automatic mechanical perpetual calendar movement fitted inside a red gold case with The Little Prince themed moon phase detail. With only 270 pieces produced, this edition will retail for $51,200.
