After the recent onslaught of radio and TV interviews, it’s been nigh-on impossible to avoid Kanye West and his staunch opinions of himself and his work. And it seems everybody has their own opinion on the rapper. But what was he like before all the drama, before he was known as Yeezus, even before the release of The College Dropout? Back in 2002, Kanye sat down with MTV’s You Heard It First for an hour-long interview and the channel recently released their uncut version on the web. Unsurprisingly, the 12-years younger Kanye comes across as an extremely different character to who we know now, but shares the same eager ambitiousness, proclaiming his aspirations to become bigger than Jermaine Dupri and Michael Jackson.
