Designed and art-directed by PL Studio, the book will be limited to 2,000 copies, however it won’t be for sale. Throughout the 2013 holiday season the book will be gifted to brand ambassadors and collaborators, and will be on view at all freestanding Y-3 boutiques. You can view some of the book’s content through an online digital portal here.
It’s been 10 years since Yohji Yamamoto joined forces with adidas to create Y-3, fusing style and sport with Yamamoto’s signature dark aesthetic. To celebrate, the brand is releasing a limited-edition book looking back on the history of Y-3 – from the breakthrough clothing, to the runway shows and ad campaigns. Rather than presenting the book in chronological order, it is instead put together as a curated mix of images and words from Yamamoto and others who’ve helped shape the brand.
