Although bits and pieces of his debut collection have found their way out into the real world over the past few weeks, Aitor Throup‘s debut collection “New Object Research” only recently held its global launch at H. Lorenzo in Los Angeles. A new, exclusive installation, titled Reflection/Redemption, was created in order to celebrate the release of Throup’s clothing and accessory line. The installation is based on one of Throup’s four main concepts – “When Football Hooligans Become Hindu Gods” – a concept that reflects a narrative theme of metamorphosis through physical product transformations. The story is a tale of the redemption of a group of young football hooligans after their savage attack ends the life of a British Hindu boy. The collection incarnates this idea in product archetypes that combine their violent past with their divine destiny.
