Audemars Piguet has just unveiled the Royal Oak Concept GMT Tourbillon to be presented at Geneva’s Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) in January 2014. Featuring a white ceramic bezel, crown and push pieces, and for the first time a white ceramic upper plate, this latest iteration of the popular Royal Oak model is sure to turn a few heads. The 44mm titanium case is hardened by anodization, and houses a twin-barrel, manually-wound in-house movement with tourbillon and GMT, fixed to a white rubber strap with folding clasp. Almost completely scratch-proof, the white ceramic bezel is cut by diamond-tipped machines and takes over eight hours to create, compared with around 45 minutes for a steel bezel.
