The sneakers pay tribute to both brands, using a combination of suede, mesh and bouclé knit in tints of pure blue, rounded off with mottled laces. In addition, a special backpack and skate deck have been produced as well using the same theme as the sneakers. You can get your hands on the sneakers, backpack, and deck when they drop on December 6 via the BWGH webstore and at selected reatilers worldwide from December 7.
The anticipation building up to the release of the BWGH x PUMA collaboration came to a head yesterday with the release of a short film illustrating the concept behind the sneakers. PUMA has been known to call upon some of the greats for fashion collaborations, previously working with Jil Sander and Alexander McQueen, and now they’ve teamed up with contemporary Parisian menswear brand, Brooklyn We Go Hard (BWGH). Making over the classic R698 model, inspiration has been taken from painter Mark Rothko who was known for his obsession and use of bold swathes of color.
