Nike and Riccardo Tisci Announce Collaboration

2013 was a huge year for Riccardo Tisci, with the CFDA International Award, the Met Gala, and his costumes for the Opera Garnier, not to mention the just-released pre-Fall 2014 collection. It now looks like 2014 is set to be even bigger, as it’s just been announced that Givenchy‘s creative director is to team up with the sports powerhouse Nike on an exclusive collaboration. Although little has been said about the collection, we know the items will bear the logo “NIKE RT,” and footwear will be an important part of it, with the range hitting stores and Nike.com this spring.

We think it’s a strong move for Nike, and one that cements their forays into the higher-end of fashion. What do you think of the pairing?

UPDATE: It looks like the collaboration will consist of several sneakers for both men and women, as well as some select apparel pieces. Also, the line seems to run under the NikeRT label. For now it does not look like this is an on-going collaboration, but we will of course keep you posted.

You can buy the sneakers now from Nike.com.
