Alexander McQueen‘s younger, more rebellious second line, McQ, unveiled its Fall/Winter 2014 collection at Paris Fashion Week. It captures the essence of the whole line, with garments given a punk edge through the use of red tartan on jackets and outerwear, tough military boots, ripped jeans and shredded knitwear. Design features include razor-sharp accessories, zip detailing and leather patches. The faded jeans and bomber jackets seem to be an ode to another subculture of the era – skinheads – while sharp double-breasted overcoats and ankle-length tailored trousers feel like a nod to Mods.
