Where the runway meets the street
Saint Laurent

Hedi Slimane gave the legs of his rake thin models a little extra leg-room in this super slim but not as excruciatingly skinny Saint Laurent Fall Winter 2014. Teddy boy and Rocker still at the forefront of the SL look with brothel-creepers and tough shoulders on display, spray on denim accompanied this time with looser fitting wool trousers, pleated and high-waisted, added a contemporary edge to some classic looks. Long-length tweed blazers, furry houndstooth overcoats, classic trenches and of course, those top-seller baseball and biker jackets in attendance. Plenty of glitz with lurex, sequins and leopard remind us that Hedi’s rock and roll kid is partial to a bit of androgyny, the whole collection the development of a rock solid archetype with a rock solid following. Music from Slimane’s latest muse-band ‘Froth,’ press play below.
