“I AM HERE” is an art project which fuses art and architecture with the aim of raising public awareness for the conservation of pandas. Artist Lawrence Argent created 40cm-tall panda sculptures which were then given to 20 trendsetters around the world to design their own one-of-a-kind sculpture. Pharrell outfitted his panda in a jeans and shirt combo, not unlike what the musician wears himself, Pusha T went for an allover gold design, and Nicola Formichetti chose a black-and-white drawn style reminiscent of Keith Haring’s work. Designers Paul Smith, Yohji Yamamoto and Sarah Andelman from colette also contributed to the project with original designs. The sculptures are being shown as part of the “HE-ART For Panda” exhibition, and they will be auctioned with all proceeds going to the China Conservation and Research Center for Giant Panda.
