Mimosa House by Park + Associates

The design brief for Mimosa House by Park + Associates was to create a double volume living space with four bedrooms, while reusing as much of the existing structure as possible. This translated to a three-dimensional box-like design that replaced the original burnt orange brick house, in materials including dark granite, timber, steel and glass. Making the most of the tropical Singapore weather, all of the rooms open up to the outdoors via glass sliding walls and decks, while the master suite situated on the top offers views of the surrounding neighborhood due to a glass and steel construction. In some areas of the residence, the original burnt orange brick was reused in memory of the original house.
