MarkForged Mark One: The World’s First 3D Printer That Can Print Carbon Fiber

Designed to overcome the strength limitations of other 3D printers, MarkForged’s Mark One is the world’s first 3D printer designed to print composite materials. Capable of printing carbon fiber, fiberglass, nylon and PLA (a thermoplastic), the Mark One is constructed primarily from an anodized aluminum unibody and a translucent printing bed. Measuring 22.6 inches wide, 14.2 inches tall and 12.7 inches deep, the printer is rather compact and makes for a really great desktop option. The Mark One will be available for pre-order beginning in February for $5,000 USD, you can sign up for updates through the company’s website.
