Where form meets function

The New York City Ballet invited acclaimed street artist JR to take part in this year’s installment of their ongoing art series. Best known for his black-and-white portraits adorning building walls across the globe, this time he went for a more fine art approach, while staying true to his signature large-format photography. In collaboration with the dancers of the company, JR created a range of black-and-white artworks, the most outstanding being a large-scale motif covering the entire floor of the theater lobby.

His work can be seen at a special New York City Ballet Art Series performances on February 13. Tickets are priced at $29 and all audience members will receive a limited edition commemorative piece.
