Almost every brand’s inspiration seems to have been traveling or sporting outdoors for Fall/Winter 2014 (see: Louis Vuitton, Lacoste, Tim Coppens, Patrik Ervell), and Porsche Design is no exception. For this season, the brand takes us on “a voyage to a luxurious ski resort in the Alps of the late 1970s.” Creative director Thomas Steinbrueck’s intention was to express the retro style of the 70s with combined futurism, presenting a series of men’s and women’s looks that were both nostalgic and modern. Classic double-breasted blazers walked next to fully sleeved blouses as well as oversized knits and and outerwear in updated silhouettes. Luxe leather was a big part of the collection, with an interesting clear and textural material making up women’s clothes that nodded to the brand’s heritage of innovation.
