Located along the Connecticut shoreline of Long Island Sound, the Spiral House was designed by Joeb Moore & Partners to engage with the surrounding coastal conditions. Responding to the atmospheres of light, air and water, the design integrates both open and closed spaces. An extended gently sloping ramp leads to the entrance which features a glass lobby and sits below a floating box above, opening the ground floor to the ocean ahead. The facade consists of cedar wooden siding pierced with large panel glass windows and doors to offer extensive views of the ocean throughout the residence.
