Aiming to integrate into the surroundings and provide a sense of living in the tropics, the Tavernier Drive Residence in Tavernier, Florida successfully manages to merge indoor and outdoor living. Luis Pons Design Lab were behind the design, that provides seclusion from the street while opening up to the park and ocean at the sides and rear. The ground level was redesigned to become a canopy to the residence, providing shelter from the sun while still being outdoors. Light-colored timber and concrete materials are used throughout the house’s construction, allowing for a seamless and harmonious design among the natural surroundings.
