Carl Aubock, a fourth-generation Viennese designer, comes from a rich lineage of genre-defining Aubock’s, continuing the family’s work that has been passed from father to son since 1926. We take a look at three of his brass objects that carry both beauty and function — paperweights in the form of an oversized key, chain and clip. His father, Aubock III, designed the corkscrew/key at the age of 14 in his father’s workshop, a nod to the Bauhaus School of thought.
