BACARDÍ Turns the Movements of Bats into Music at SXSW

At this year’s South by Southwest, BACARDÍ teamed up with Immersive, the folks behind the Sochi Olympic Opening and Closing Ceremonies, to translate the movements of bats into live music under the direction of creative agency Mr. President. Situated under Congregation Bridge in Austin, the bats flocked at dust before unknowingly acting as musical elements which will soon be used in a track by DJ Craig Richards. Dubbed #BATBEATS, a bespoke software app was used to create an original platform for an interactive experience which uses separate sections of a grid to represent a specific sound, effect or song.
